Reverse Psychology

Reverse psychology is a technique involving the advocacy of a belief or behavior that is opposite to the one desired, with the expectation that this approach will encourage the subject of the persuasion to do what actually is desired: the opposite of what is suggested.”  Definition found at Wikepedia

Meredith and Missy had a discussion about New Year Resolutions and how neither one of us ever make them, because we are sure to break them.  Well our conversation turned to Reverse Psychology and what if we made a list of everything we wanted to accomplish this year, but you guessed it….In REVERSE!

So here it is:

  • Wake up every morning with an I don’t care what I get done or on what time schedule I get it done attitude.
  • Eat ridiculous amounts of sweets and be a couch potato.
  • Spend less time with the ones I love and care about.
  • Only cook recipes we have always relied on.
  • Live and make all decisions inside the box.
  • Stay indoors at all times.
  • Take the bull by the tail…we will only get kicked in the face a few times from this end :)
  • Make 2011 the worst year ever!!!

Well if Reverse Psychology kicks in like we think it will, 2011 is stacking up to be one amazing year!

New Western Docudrama Begins Production

Bend, OR Dec. 15, 2010 Shirley Morris, Filmmaker of “Oh, You Cowgirl!” the documentary about the early twentieth century rodeo and wild west show cowgirls, is partnering with Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum located in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Research and production of a new documentary/docudrama based upon the lives of the remarkable Irwin family is underway and filming will begin this summer.

“Most people who know something of rodeo history are aware of C. B. Irwin’s accomplishments and contributions to the sport. A west coast tour is being scheduled for the presentation of The Lone Cowgirl Presents “Oh, You Cowgirl!” Shirley Morris appears as The Lone Cowgirl and presents additional stories about the cowgirls of old along with a showing of the film. Details are being worked out to include a traveling museum showcase to present many artifacts from the Irwin family and Y6 ranch, most have never been seen publicly before.

A portion of the proceeds from the film and performance will be used to help fund production for the new Irwin documentary. Guests for future performances may include cowboy poets, sports figures, musical artists, authors and speakers.

I am a Couture Cowgirl for a couple of reasons.

First, I always want to look GOOD when riding my horse. From my Troxel Helmet, with black leather and pink accents to my black boots, I will never be caught riding without makeup or my hair done.

Rebecca L. Castaneda

Owner, Cowgirl Oasis

In the 1920’s my grandparents bought our family land and built a small house.  They lived a rural life raising cattle and growing their fresh food in several large garden areas. Here they raised their three daughters. Luckily for me, my Mom is one of these girls. When the girls got ready to marry, they each picked their favorite spots and built their homes and began their families. Our land is now included in the National Registrar Binghampton Rural Historic Land   [2]. (more…)

1. Always load your horse last in the trailer so it is the first one unloaded. By the time he’s got his horse unloaded, you will have your cinch pulled and be mounted up ready to go – lessening the chance of him riding off without you with your horse trying to follow while you are still trying to get your foot in the stirrup. Future Couture Cowgirl
By Missy Unruh

My daughter and I always have the BEST conversations while cuddling in her bed right before lights out!  The other night our chatting brought us to the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”  Without a pause in thought, she responded “A Fashion Designer AND a Vet!”  Can you only imagine the possibilities of these occupations combined!
