Meredith and Missy have been  at the Cody Wyoming fashion week and in honor of Stetson providing the boots for the show, I thought I would use boots as an analogy for old friends verses new. A pair of boots is more than just leather and beautiful craftsmanship. Each pair of boots that we own hold memories of various times in our lives. They tell a story of who we are.  All of our friends are like boots in that every pair is special to us in some way. The new ones are exciting to buy and slip on for the first time and it’s always interesting to get a feel for them but they can’t beat the old friends. These are those one or two pair of boots that no matter how many pairs you have in your closet, you still prefer them. Old friends are the boots that hold the memories of your past and it’s always nice to “revisit” the days gone by. Many months ago Missy made a trip to Kansas to visit Meredith…we told you we were working on something very exciting, but left your minds to wonder about our secret.  Today Couture Cowgirl will walk the runway at Cody High Style, and we feel this is a perfect day to debut our secret!

Couture Cowgirl’s new signature release is a whimsical and enticing mix of  fruit, berry and citrus rain. A trace of  leather leaves a distinct impression.  This blend is the answer to those seeking a contemporary and crisp blend designed for all seasons.

We are very excited about another aspect of our perfume, we opted to do a roll on versus the spray perfume.  Adelia Ganson explains, “Couture Cowgirl” contains no alcohol, so it doesn’t evaporate like many perfumes.  In scents that contain alcohol, many times the main emphasis of the scent is on the first spray, and the resulting few minutes of scent. Alcohol-based scents evaporate quickly due to high alcohol content, which causes the scent to lose effect very quickly, sometimes in just a few minutes.  Alcohol is also a common allergan and respiratory irritant, though many people don’t know this.  Many times people who think they are allergic to scent are actually allergic to the alcohol in the products they are spraying.   “Couture Cowgirl” contain no alcohol and is designed to last for several hours, so it will change over time on each person’s skin.  This allows for layering of scent that simply isn’t possible with alcohol-based scents.

When Couture Cowgirl launched, we knew that it was more than a brand!  It was a STATE OF MIND…You have all defined that state of mind in your weekly submissions of your ~COUTURE COWGIRLISMS~ on facebook each Friday!   By the way, this is our favorite day of the week at CC, we love connecting with all of you and hearing what defines the CC STATE OF MIND for you!

There is something else that we have noticed, it is an unexplainable connection of cowgirls.  We will call it a “SISTERHOOD”  At the Cody High Style Show CC will debut the first in our new SISTERHOOD collection.  As Sisters, lets help all our fellow cowgirls celebrate their joys,  support them when the trail gets rough, and be a a trustworthy friend! 

The sneak peek of our first tee in this collection is based around a celtic sisterhood design representing an unending knot that keeps us all tied together.  We hope that you all love our new collection and join the SISTERHOOD of the Couture Cowgirl.

I find it ironic that human nature allows us so many shades of who we are at any given point. Regardless of how wide the spectrum, at some point, our true colors are going to shine through. Whether they are bright and sunny colors or dark and dismal hues, who we are is who we are and try as we may, our true colors are going to shine through eventually. There are times when we amaze ourselves at our strength and perseverance and commitment to others and achieve levels of brilliant colors that we didn’t even know we were aware of having. Then there are those people we meet that for no obvious reason just give us a sense of fear or sorrow or pain. Even the colors with which we choose to surround ourselves is based on our inner colors and the light we give off in our presence.  As Meredith and Missy prepare for their big show in Cody, they can tell you that every person has a “signature color”. We have been giving you sneak peeks of what will be gracing the Cody High Style Runway this September in the Couture Cowgirl line, so today we wanted to share a piece that we are both very excited about!

This design is original artwork by the talented Meredith Lockhart, screen printed and hand shaded by Missy Unruh. The girls have combined their talents for a  unique stunning piece.

This past week has been a really tough one for some people I know. A mother lost a son, a young man lost his brother, a friend moved back home after losing her house to the bank and as we leave summer and head into Fall, life always changes a bit for everyone. Some of the changes are more heartbreaking and drastic than others and my heart goes out to all of those who are dealing with really difficult times. (more…)

 As the Cody High Style runway show approaches, STETSON is the go to choice for fun, high quality, classic boots.  Ginger Wallace has been amazing to work with and shipped boots our way today to be modeled with Couture Cowgirl and Thistles West at the 2010 CHS!  We couldn’t be more appreciative of everything Stetson has done for us!!!  Let’s get all you Couture Cowgirl’s in a pair of Stetson’s today!

We found a few HOT boots from STETSON to share with today….but we were careful not to share the boots we picked for the runway show.
